Individual pages are glued by the edge into the spine of the thicker cover. It gives a very smart result, and generally only works for books that are more than about 36 pages long. PUR is a very strong glue that gives the best possible perfect binding result. Not all perfect binding uses PUR – it’s good to know what is being used! Perfect bound books generally do not lie very flat.
