One of our past projects is a book with a wooden cover that we created for the Escape property development on the Gold Coast. The developers wanted premium deluxe portfolio books that would perfectly showcase their new shore-front building lifestyle brand.
It’s a 48 page book and the cover is made from solid wood (real timber – Laurel). We backed the timber with artboard to ensure the timber wouldn’t perforate when the book was opened.
To bind the book we used a method called singer sewing in white to increase the dramatic contrast on the timber board. The ‘e’ logo was laser cut and provides a hint of the gorgeous sunset image on the next page.
The main pages were Knight Smooth White, and then Curious Translucents was strategically used to highlight the beautiful scenic photos beneath.
