Pull Up Banners Brisbane – Cheap vs Great

There are some really cheap pull up banners (also called roll up or retractable banners) out there. And, there are some crazy expensive ones too! What you need to know is how to spot the good ones, and make sure you spend the right amount to get the type of banner that you need.

There are really only two components that you need to know about. The poster and the base.

Poster Component

The main thing to be sure of with the poster is that the print quality is very high – often referred to as photographic quality. A close second priority though is making sure that the material or stock that is being printed on is curl-free, robust, smooth and flat. The best artwork in the world will be totally wasted if it is printed on a cheap poster that curls around and obscures the design from the very first use. You can expect this to happen with the banners that are at the bottom end of the market. All of the mid range and high end banners should not have this problem, but do check before you buy!

The Base

This is where there is a lot of variation. The cheapest of bases may literally only last for a couple of uses. And, if you know that, and it suits the purpose, then it might be exactly what you need. We are big advocates of loving and caring for your banners and bases to make sure they last as long as possible. There is then a BIG jump up to the premium or deluxe bases. These are much heavier and sturdier, and they look really good too. However, they will usually add at least $200 to the price of a good mid range banner.

Other Variations

The standard pull up banner that we produce for our customers is 850mm wide x 2000mm high. We can also do them smaller, right down to desktop size – A3 or A4. They can also be much larger, and bases can be easily and quickly custom made to any width and height. They can also be double sided, and we can even source outdoor ones now (previously they have been very much an indoor product).

Care for your Banner

Whether you go for cheap, mid range or premium, you need to look after your banner carefully to make it last as long as possible. The vast majority of faulty banners is due to misuse.
