Christmas cards?! Do people even still send them?
How do you feel when a hand addressed greeting card appears in your letterbox? Isn’t it great when you are so important to someone, they are prepared to take the time to write you a note in a card, address the envelope, pop a stamp on and then even manage to get it to the letterbox?! Quite a few people (and businesses) do still send Christmas Cards, and the effort is certainly not wasted. Key Tip: If you want to do it, it takes a while, so don’t dally!
Here are a few tips:
Be creative, be awesome – if you’re going to the effort of ordering, writing and posting Christmas cards, you want to stand out and be remembered. No point in sending out boring, cheap cards that fail to impress your customers and go straight from letterbox to recycling bin.
Be personal – a short, handwritten note from you to your customer will mean so much. In fact, I would say that a genuine message of thanks is more important than the design and print of the card. If your primary goal is to cement your relationship with your customers, then focus on the content of the card over anything else.
Include a nod to your industry – make it about you and your staff or include a custom image related to your area of business. Be personal, be different, Have some fun with it 🙂
Embrace some exciting styles – watercolour backgrounds, gold foil brush scripts, irregular shapes, raised gloss red foil, rose gold varnish, linen artboard; will all help distinguish you from the rest of the Christmas card line-up.
